not great qualifying, un-nerved by
engine knocking noise that turned out to be gearbox rattling.
Race 1 superb start, made up 4 places by first corner! but an incident
brought a red flag and restart. see youtube video here.
2nd start not so great but kept with
the pack, finished 8th. read race report here |

Race 2 another good start and had
an exciting battle from start to finish, exchanging places throughout.
finished 7th. Pleased to have 2 successful finishes under my belt.

Confidence showed at a circuit
Dawn likes and there were plenty of cars behind her on the grid after
a competitive qualifying, a good confidence boost. Although Dawn
managed several overtakes, the gutsie opponents managed to get the
places back on top of Paddock hill!.. Dawn finished 8th again but
managed to keep 11 cars (a mixture of both classes) still behind.

A long trip but worth it!.
Dry practise, wet quali, wet race 1, dry race 2. Still middle of
the pack results but growing in confidence in the car and own
ability. Good racing tussles, both in the wet and dry.
Kept several 'faster' 16valve cars behind. Now 6th in class on the

racing and best results yet. Great weather all day, 2 races,
close battle in race 1, including 3 grass cutting excursions! Results:
5th and 6th in class!! currently =9th in overall points

great weather all day. Best ever quali - 6th,. Race 1 big start line
squash crash. Finished 5th. Race 2 Massive crash after contact

Excellent day. 5
hour gap between quali and race but great race. SOOO close to
3rd place, must have only been 6ft! Slip stream, love it and
loath it. Excellent atmosphere in paddock. Best overall result so far, 13th out of 26

Best ever qualifying,
3rd in class! Got great start keeping my place in the mêlée at the
first corner, and kept it for 9 laps.. unfortunately came off the
black stuff just a little and lost 3rd, missed a gear but kept 4th
until early finish with red flag lap 10, no time to catch the place
back. gutted. good race and good overall season result,
bring on 2010!! race

Rain ruined testing, and almost
ruined qualifying too. Race 1, after a poor start Dawn came home
in 8th. Race 2, hit at end of first lap - 20 minutes driving
with no steering and wheels bent, more damage to pay for! read report

excellent practise days, but quali was ruined by
slippery back wheels.. race 1 fun but not great grip clip
here from youtube, race 2 went
round accident but had no grip to drive quick, found grip problem to
be leaking fuel onto back wheel.. fixed car, went out for a final race
and team mate smashed into side - see!, end of race!! race

A mix of results - race 1 = lost places being shunted off,
race 2 = excellent battle with 6 cars slip streaming, ended up 7th. Still
10th in class in the points
table. Spa lived up to its reputation as an awesome spectacle.-

Bad memories of last years race in the dark and pouring rain
were washed away and I thoroughly enjoyed the whole weekend: see race
report. Results were still only 10th and 12th but excellent
racing. also the MINI World Record was beaten with over 270 mini's on
track at once!! see pictures the racing
was marred with a big accident in race 2, but thankfully all parties are
ok. |
