Previous
day raced in the VAG Trophy but there was a problem with brakes, rear
left was jamming on, fought hard to bring the car home in race 1
followed by mad dash to collect a brake spare part and made it back in
time to race 2 with only 10 minutes to spare! 3rd and 2nd in class Golfs:
Dry quali, didn't get result wished for, set up was still not quite
right, but had good start to race 1, had an excellent fight but finished
4th. Race 2 was WET, set up this time was perfect, it was
extremely slippery and had a near miss with a spinner but fought hard
all the way to keep the car on the black stuff to finish a very happy
3rd in class. |

day raced in the VAG Trophy, 2 3rds. great racing
Great weather for Golfs
races. Decent quali, First race was pushing for 4th, then gifted
3rd place by a spinner. 2nd race, front runner involved in first
lap incident. Pack spread out after safety car, 2 really good over
takes and I was up to 2nd in class.. as the laps ticked by the
recovering front runner gained on me, but I held on to 2nd by .02 of a
second. My First Champ 2nd place :-) ! |

not a very successful weekend..
Max got a bit damaged. Quali only managed mid table. Race 1
missed a gear and lost a place, gained it back but then got hit on back
quarter going into a corner, recovered but hit again, recovered losing a
bumper. Finished 4th. 2nd race, car in front stopped short
at corner and I bashed into the back, lots of damage for engine bay,
recovered but then tapped by another and sent into the barrier backwards.
ok and continued but car too damaged earlier, finished but last. |

Finally raced on home circuit
and did well for a change! Used the
VAG all-comers race as extra practise and came 2nd in class with some
great laps. Golf Race, front runners
span up ahead, up to 2nd but was continually blocked by 16v and the span
car caught up again.. Max'd the speedo, at over 120mph!
:-) but again, a 16v held track position (its class position you
need for championship points, not overall race results!), lost a place,
down to 3rd, down to 4th but fought back and finished 3rd.. by about 3
feet! |

The
Final round of the season was televised, but only the 2nd races of both
V.A.G and the Golf were actually on tv.. guess which one saw Dawn on the
podium!... :-(
VAG
was great racing again with the faster classes giving plenty of room for
others. Dawn finished 3rd and 2nd in class.
As
the car was up for sale Dawn didn't want to damage the car so took it
steady.. but up ahead was a different story. Running 4th on the
track, 2nd and 3rd ahead were battling for every inch. 3rd place
made a move but 2nd wasn't allowing it and blocked, unfortunately
pushing the one behind onto the grass, they touched corners and 2nd
place went spinning onto the infield, 3rd recovered but Dawn drove round
them both for 2nd place :-)
Race
2 on the Sunday had a bad start, the car involved in yesterdays crash
today tipped someone into the grass and onto its roof causing a safety
car. In the mêlée that ensued Dawn found herself down to 4th
place in class. With 3 laps behind safety car it left on 3 laps to
race. Dawn couldn't find a clean way through so the flag dropped
as 3rd and 4th crossed the line 10ths of a second apart. |

race of my life" A very hectic race at Brands GP, with spinners,
bumps and hit from behind. The close racing caused some bumps but
Dawn managed to come home 4th in class and 10th overall, the best yet.

rained half way through and there were many spinners, I slipped my way

to 3rd place without realising, but then threw it away sliding on oil
under the trees. Slid off but no damage, ended up 4th.
Race 2 was horrific! Massive
shunt on 2nd lap involving the front runners, two cars trashed and on
fire. 20 minutes before restart, only given 6 minutes, and I had a
slow puncture from driving over glass. Set off for 3 lap dash, lap
2 got touched on back quarter, I continued by car behind spun and got
collected, more trashed cars... not a good day |

What
horrific weather!!.. I've never driven in so much water. aquaplaning
everywhere. Quali was joint with the VAG racers - 49 of us!.
we only had 3 laps before red flag, horrendous conditions. Big
long wait in the pit then back out for 1 flying lap.. not great quali
place but still 4th within class with golfs.
VAG race was up first
still raining and had my first ever full spin at Luffield! continued and
WON my class!! P1 at Silverstone GP! :o)
Golf race pm was still
raining, got a bit left behind in the spray and stuck behind a 16v, just
glad to bring Max home safely without spinning, finished 5th. see

an end to the season - a record haul of trophies. 3 podiums round
off an excellent days racing. Qualified 1st in class in the V.A.G.
and 4th in the Golf Races. VAG race was very hectic with so many
speeds of cars out together, Dawn chased the lead class car but finished
2nd. Golf Races were so close and great fun. Finished 3rd in
first race beating main rival, but he caught and overtook me in race 2
to come home 3rd again. This placed Dawn 4th in class for 2010 and
7th overall out of 46. A great season - see you next

engine knocking noise that turned out to be gearbox rattling.
Race 1 superb start, made up 4 places by first corner! but an incident

Race 2 another good start and had
an exciting battle from start to finish, exchanging places throughout.
finished 7th. Pleased to have 2 successful finishes under my belt.

Confidence showed at a circuit
Dawn likes and there were plenty of cars behind her on the grid after
a competitive qualifying, a good confidence boost. Although Dawn
managed several overtakes, the gutsie opponents managed to get the
places back on top of Paddock hill!.. Dawn finished 8th again but
managed to keep 11 cars (a mixture of both classes) still behind.

A long trip but worth it!.
Dry practise, wet quali, wet race 1, dry race 2. Still middle of
the pack results but growing in confidence in the car and own
ability. Good racing tussles, both in the wet and dry.
Kept several 'faster' 16valve cars behind. Now 6th in class on the
